SOS covers the cost of the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification course, facilitating the transition to RBT Level 1, where continuous professional development is emphasized through quarterly in-service trainings and biannual performance reviews. As employees progress to RBT Levels 2 and 3, they benefit from free practicum supervision and hands-on training, alongside discounted tuition through university partnerships. Advanced career stages include roles such as Trainer, Intern, and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA), with monthly trainings and on-demand support from corporate ensuring ongoing development.
At the BCBA level, professionals gain access to free Continuing Education Units (CEUs) and training courses, reflecting SOS’s commitment to lifelong learning. Higher management positions, such as Clinical Director and Regional Director, receive comprehensive support to enhance their leadership skills. The field of autism therapy and the adoption of ABA are relatively new within health care, resulting in 47% of BCBAs being under 34 years old. Based on the latest data from the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB), 56% of BCBA certifications were awarded in the last five years. The autism therapy industry is struggling to recruit the appropriate leaders and mentors to support the BCBA workforce. In sum, there simply aren’t enough tenured clinicians in the field.
