Social Skills Group Classes

Success On The Spectrum offers group social skills classes to promote growth in social connections and friendship skills.

Lessons include topics such as

  • Emotional Regulation: Accepting no, Dealing with Losing, Dealing with anger, Reading people’s faces, and thinking about other people’s feelings
  • Conversation Skills: entering and exiting conversations, staying on topic, social skills, and appropriate humor
  • Friendship Skills: identifying sources of friends, how to handle a bully, and handling peer conflict and peer rejection.
  • Manners: Manners in public, manners at a friends house, party manners, and hygiene
  • Positive Self-Concept: positive self talk, recieving critisism, and strengths and growth mindset

Children will meet in small groups at Success On The Spectrum once per week, after school.

In order to qualify, each child must be verbal, be able to sit and attend 45 minute sessions, and participate in age-appropriate group discussions.
