As of 2023, the CDC disclosed that approximately 1 in 36 children in the United States receive a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs) are healthcare professionals with the expertise to administer ABA therapy, the gold standard in autism treatment, to children with autism.
Presently, the United States counts just above 60,000 BCBAs, creating a shortage of qualified professionals proficient of delivering autism treatment. Merely 33% of American children in need of ABA therapy have access to it.
